Shaw Theatres JCube will open on 5 April 2012 with 7 screens, including an IMAX theatre, and bring Hollywood blockbusters and quality entertainment right to the doorsteps of residents in the west of Singapore.
The new multiplex is the latest in a string of significant developments over the last two years for Shaw Theatres. Shaw Theatres nex, the company’s first new multiplex in more than a decade, opened in December 2010 with the introduction of premiere, a premium cinema-going experience in a suburban district.
Further developments are on the horizon. The company is currently working on its next multiplex at Waterway Point in Punggol, which is slated for completion in 2014. Shaw Theatres, Waterway Point will feature Singapore’s third digital IMAX theatre!
Thus far, Shaw Theatres has seen a 35% increase in overall box office takings and is expecting Shaw Theatres JCube to further increase it’s revenue by another 15% over the next two years.
